GazIntech will participate in the Side event on the implementation of the Seafarers’ Identity Documents (SID) Convention, 2003 (Revised), as amended (No. 185). This Convention stipulates that the state administer SIDs, ensuring compliance with international legal norms and operational communication between countries. The documents also ensure safe navigation; seafarers’ rights and freedoms in countries their vessels visit for the purposes of shore leave; and transit or transfer to other vessels for executing contracts.
The event will be held on 25 and 26 April, 2018, at the Headquarters of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva, as a part of the Third Meeting of the Special Tripartite Committee of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006). The event agenda includes discussions of the 2016 amendments to Convention No. 185 and its implementation, such as challenges and progress made, views from Governments, Seafarers and Shipowners, as well as comments from the International organizations.
The GazIntech specialists, as a part of the Russian delegation, have been invited as experts in implementation of Convention No. 185 and will display their services & solutions that provide the necessary procedures in full compliance with the latest amendments to ILO Convention No. 185, as well as the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Using GazIntech’s SID System each member state of the Convention No. 185 is in effect receives a tool that guarantees issuance of the new generation SIDs (with contactless integrated circuit).
