Over 500 seafarers of Kazakhstan became holders of internationally recognized Seafarer’s Identity Documents (SID). It became possible due to the SID Processing, Issuance and Control System created by specialists of GazIntech in the interests of the Transport Committee under the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

SID is a double-faced document which includes biometric parameters of its holder, corresponding to the requirements of the Convention No.185 of the International Labor Organization. The document is issued to vessel crewmembers and students for marine practical training. Thanks to this, seafarers are able to come on shore in the ports of foreign states without visas. Besides the procedures of transit and transfer to other vessels is simplified.
